about
Hey, I’m Kristin.
Certified Hawaii Destination Expert. Luxury travel advisor. Professional carrier of other people’s mental load — and very good at it.

the origin story
Salty Luxe started the way your trip probably did: overwhelmed.
In 2022, I planned my own destination wedding and honeymoon in Hawaii — while working full-time and caring for a baby.
Somewhere between the spreadsheets and the 1am resort research, it clicked: nobody should have to do this alone. Not for their wedding. Not for the one week a year their whole family is in the same place.
By the time our plane landed back home, Salty Luxe Travel existed.
Since then I've earned my certifications — CLIA, ASTA, Hawaii Destination Expert — and built the specialty this site is named for: luxury Hawaii travel for families. I've crossed the islands again and again, with a baby on my hip and a toddler negotiating for shave ice, touring the resorts I recommend and skipping the ones I don't.
Why families, and why Hawaii
Because I am the woman this site talks to. The one carrying the family calendar in her head. The one who knows which kid needs the shaded pool and which one needs the waterslide, and who used to research both at midnight.
Hawaii is where I got married, where I've taken my own babies, and the place I've studied resort by resort, island by island — Oahu three times over, the Big Island twice, Maui twice, Kauai cover to cover. It's not a destination on my list. It's the specialty on my license.
My philosophy is simple: the best travel feels seamless. Not overpacked. Not performative. Beautifully aligned with how your family actually rests, celebrates, and reconnects. The details — the right location, the right resort, the right room category, the right pacing — are what turn a good trip into the one you talk about for years.
Those details are my job. Ease is yours.

The unofficial credentials
Hawaii over anywhere, every time. A little obsessed with my kids and a good resort pool. Happiest barefoot at sunset. I splurge on experiences, skincare, and good coffee.
All about: sunset swims, quiet mornings, slow afternoons, family time, and trips that feel like a real exhale.
Not about: hustle culture, generic itineraries, cookie-cutter resorts, second-guessing, and wasted PTO.
Agree? We're probably a great fit.
let’s work together
Making travel feel like a vacation again.
You don’t need to figure this out. You just need someone who already has — and who handles every detail so you can actually enjoy the trip.
